Eastern Storm’s recent innings against left-arm spin is the clearest clue here: Britz and Marais struggled to rotate against Linde, and Boland Rocks have Mahima and Brand to test them again. Mahima’s impact against Tuskers makes that middle-overs squeeze more than a theoretical matchup.
Boland’s case is strengthened by Eastern Storm’s only completed match, in which their attack took one wicket and conceded at 8.46 an over. If Boland set a target, that lack of breakthroughs could let Kaplan and Botha build a platform; if Eastern Storm bat first, their recent difficulty scoring freely leaves them with ground to make up.
I’m backing Boland Rocks to win at 1.513. The price still looks worth taking: it reflects Boland as favourites, but not fully the contrast between their spin options and Eastern Storm’s recent batting trouble.
The case for Eastern Storm is that one completed match is a thin guide, especially after a reshaped squad and a rain-disrupted start. A strong partnership or a Boland top-order wobble could change the picture quickly; that is the main risk.
